Les Rosaires is a lovely beach with just the sea wall to avoid when using the kite. They also had showers and a nice Creperie on the sea front.

Les Rosaires in Northern Brittany was perfect for the North Easterly wind that was blowing.  On a Saturday in September it was uncrowded and easy to get to.  Due to the wind direction the waves were messy and close together plus there was a very strong rip current to avoid.

Heading out to sea it was easy to pop off one of the many waves.

On the Ile d'Oléron, West of Rochefort is the wonderful beach with soft sand, set behind a small wooded area. The beach was great for kitesurfing with some small but clean waves rolling in and plenty of space for just me. There is a swim zone here though, so in the summer it might not be practical to kite here.
