| Arinsal, Andorra
Once when I was in Arinsal, it dumped big time, most of the night and all
morning. It was great. Some people stayed in bed, so we got some freshies
right off the lift as we were riding the second chair of the day. Not long
after lunch, all the clouds went home, along with most of the people...
although by this time, it was getting tracked out big time.
On another occassion we took the drag to the top of the main section,
went under the rope
and dropped off the back side, and rode down to Pal - albeit with a 15 minute
hike out. Regretably we had left it too late, and the sun had cooked the snow,
apart from the bit at the bottom. Given some fresh pow, and a safe time
slot, this would rock.
Also from this drag lift, you can ride down to the final drag lift, which
drops off on El Capa (I think). This is the main slope that overlooks
Arinsal on gunners left. The drag lift to get to it is often closed, so
there can be lots of powder here for quite a while... but it's very limited
and wouldn't keep you occupied for long.
